art point
The designer Lena Kvadrat founded her label art point in the 90s, and has settled in the new district of Vienna since 2001. Kvadrat runs a stylish concept store there and develops two collections annually, engaged with themes such as Corporeality and Neo/Futurism.
Transformation and consensus-building are the magnetic poles of the tension field in which her concepts develop. art point pieces are meant to offer the wearer participation and self-realization simultaneously. The old is not thrown away, the new interpretation of existing pieces in new combinations is a considerable part of the concept. There are no ‘no goes’ as the strong and very independent artistic handwriting always creates an inner relation that builds suspense to breaks in style. This is also due to the fact that well-devised cuts and clever details ensure a perfect fit, which gives the outfits a striking presence.
The collections are exclusively manufactured in a small production in Slovakia for the private vending and pre-order of selected trade partners like RESPCT.ME. The materials are high-quality and long-lasting - residual materials are not disposed of but integrated into the next collection. Altogether art point fulfills the important criteria of fair and mindful production, even if some compromises are made in the composition of the materials, in favor of the artistically intended impression.
